Pianist Cajan Witmer

Pianist Cajan Witmer graduated at the Rotterdam Conservatory in 1989.
Since 2005 he is a teacher at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen.

Cajan has been playing in numerous formations over the  last 40 years.
His focus has been on jazz and latin music.
Cajan is an excellent accompanist, both for vocalists and instrumentalists.
Besides being a pianist, Cajan is  composer and arranger.
In 1989 he won a prize for his composition “Goudkust” at the Meervaart Jazzfestival.

His trio “Witmer trio“ was founded in 1994. The trio recorded 5 CD’s.
The CD Cuban Fantasy won a prize for the best Latin CD recorded in 2023.
Two years ago Cajan started “Blue Temple”, a jazz quartet featuring the talented tenorsaxophonist Yehorii Uzva.
Their first album will be released this year containing only original compositions.
